Wendy Bauer is the General Manager, Automotive & Manufacturing for Amazon Web Services (AWS), leading the global automotive and manufacturing organization. In this role, she supports the world’s largest automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, auto tech companies, and manufacturers in industries like aerospace, agriculture, chemical, and industrial, to accelerate their digital transformation journey while maximizing value creation.
Prior to joining AWS in 2019, Wendy held leadership roles at Microsoft as Worldwide Manufacturing & Energy Business Strategy Leader and General Manager – US Industry. In these roles, she built the industry go-to-market strategy and accelerated commercial implementation in achieving both nearterm business growth and strategic customer partnerships. Previously, Wendy spent more than 20 years in leadership roles in the automotive industry at both OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Her experience spanned sales, product strategy and business development, engineering, purchasing, and quality control.
Wendy’s business success comes from a strong focus on marketleading innovations, strategic partnerships, customer obsession, and operational discipline. Wendy received a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University–Kelley School of Business, a Master of Science in engineering from Purdue University, and Bachelor of Science degrees in both electrical and mechanical engineering from Kettering University (formerly GMI Engineering & Management Institute).
