Ms. Thuy is the Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, responsible for strategic partnerships and international finance. She is also currently the Global CEO of VinFast Auto.
Ms. Thuy is responsible for establishing the VinFast brand in various international markets and leading it to become a recognized global leader in the manufacturing and production of electric vehicles. Ms. Thuy also has contributed to the success of VinFast in their home market of Vietnam, overseeing the record construction of VinFast’s state-of-the-art manufacturing complex in Hai Phong and the launch of its first passenger vehicles and e-scooters. Ms. Thuy was supportive of VinFast’s bold step in transitioning from internal combustion vehicles to exclusively developing all-electric vehicles.
Ms. Thuy is leading VinFast’s global expansion with the establishment of headquarters in three European countries and North Americas, and the construction of a new manufacturing complex in North Carolina.
Ms. Thuy first joined Vingroup in 2008, serving initially as the Group CFO. She became Vingroup Vice Chairwoman in 2011, and then Vingroup’s CEO in 2012 and concurrently served in these leadership positions until 2014. While in those roles she spearheaded various landmark international financing transactions for Vingroup and Vietnam.
Prior to joining Vingroup, Ms. Thuy spent nearly 10 years in structured finance, mortgage origination and commercial real estate at Lehman Brothers contributing to their North Asia and South Asia businesses in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore.
Ms. Thuy was the sole representative from Vietnam in the World Economic Forum’s “Young Global Leaders” (YGL) class of 2013 and is a current member in the Vietnam Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). She holds an MBA from the International University of Japan and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Vietnam Foreign Trade University.
